About Wandering Vine
Our principal speaker is Helen Foster. She started her tasting career with chocolate whilst working in the Research and Development laboratories at Cadbury's in Bournville where she belonged to a tasting panel which met twice a week. Soon she discovered the flavours arrived in demijohns and there was a steady supply of waste ones available for making wine, so she learned her wine making skills first hand.
Upon moving into a house with a cellar, she began laying down wines for future consumption and learning about viniculture. In 1991 she set up her own wine tasting circle with a group of friends and it still meets on a monthly basis. Next she began running wine tastings in the workplace and found there was a steady demand.
Her wine studies include an Advanced Certificate in Wines, Spirits and other Alcoholic Beverages awarded by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in 1999. Her holidays take her to the wine growing regions of the world to enable her to learn more about this fascinating subject.
She devotes many hours to helping others to discover and enjoy wine as well as offering advice on wines to choose for specific occasions.
